Sew Much to See in Atlanta with Craig Conover
I’m pretty excited to be returning to the Atlanta Market this January. This time not just as an attendee, but I will be giving a fireside chat on Thursday the 18th. Also, Sewing Down South will be at the market selling a new wholesale collection, so be sure to check that out.
Since I’m coming back to Atlanta, I wanted to give y’all a look at what I like to do when I’m at Market.
1. Day Before Market: Westside Provisions District
I like to get to Atlanta the day before the market so I can hit the ground running first thing when it opens the next day. One of my favorite things to do when I get into the city is hit up Westside Provisions. I like checking out all the shops and grabbing a bite to eat here. It reminds me of Charleston in the way that you can meander through one area and find some great shopping and bites while not being trapped inside.
A few spots I like to check out while at Westside are Sid Mashburn, Brick + Mortar, Hudson Grace, and Nouvelle Nails. Sid Mashburn has some great finds if you’re looking for some elevated southern style, their suits and jackets are definitely something I’d wear to a party at Ms. Patricia’s. Last time I was in Atlanta I stopped by Brick + Mortar and loved all their candles and vintage finds. Hudson Grace is a great homestore that I love popping into for some inspiration, a great stop to make before heading to Market to get in the right headspace. Finally, I’ll swing by Nouvelle Nails to get my finger nail painted before Market. It’s a thing I started doing years ago with the Polished Man Campaign, an organization that works to raise awareness to end violence against women and children, and I’ve done it ever since to show my support for their cause.
2. Morning of Market: Coffee at East Pole Coffee
Before heading to Market I like to hit a local spot for coffee in the morning. I’m a big fan of East Pole Coffee. I just saw that they have a new cappuccino with black pepper and parmesan cheese. Might need to check that out in January. I love that going to the Atlanta Market always gives me the opportunity to try new places, and there’s no shortage of great options around the city.
3. After Market: The Battery
Whether it’s baseball season or not, I love swinging by The Battery when I’m in Atlanta. When I was there on podcast tour last year Austen and I had the best time checking out all the great spots by Truist Park. What I like about The Battery is that it has something for everyone. If you want a casual sports bar, they’ve got it, if you want something more high end, they’ve even got a steakhouse, C Ellet’s. To me that is really cool. The Battery to me is a great place to go with my team after a day at the Market to circle up over some apps and beverages and rehash the day. I would certainly recommend checking it out when you’re in town.
I am really looking forward to being in Atlanta this January and going back to some of my favorite places, along with some new ones as well.
